A ninth grader at SAGE International School, Avni Upadhyay is a passionate basketball player, confident speaker, and art enthusiast. She has participated in various sports events and has won awards in various competitions. Avni's coaches at SAGE International school help her improve her skills, and she is inspired by her surroundings and friends. She is passionate about public speaking and leadership, and has been a troop leader in Scout and Guide.

The Initiation

Avni Upadhyay has played basketball at various levels throughout the last six years. She is also a national Korfball player and competed in an Agra-based event. She obtained valuable experience and greatly loved working with the team members. Besides athletics, Avni is also a strong speaker who has attended several public events and served as an anchor at her school.

The individuals around her who are hard-working, enthusiastic, and devoted to their jobs inspire her the most. She learnt a lot from many people, including her friends, parents, teachers, and relatives. They are her role models, and they contribute much to her personality.

The Talent

Avni has participated in a variety of educational activities and served as an anchor in both Hindi and English in her school’s programmes. She enjoys performing on stage, expressing herself in front of others, and chatting to people. She sees it as one of the ways she can improve herself.

Achievements

Avni has won several sports awards since she was a toddler. She used to compete in various athletics events, including long jump and over head backward throw, and earned first place in each. She also won several diplomas and trophies in drawing and collage contests. She has received several awards for her artistic contributions. She also did some technical labor, such as creating PPTs and presentations, and placed second in the Subhodaya International PPT Making Competition.

A Bit More

Avni says she used to watch cricket and has had a strong interest in sports since childhood. She enjoys spending time outside and discovering new things. So she chose basketball as her sport, and when she first started playing, she enjoyed it. However, at one point she wanted to quit basketball. Then her coaches, professors, and mentors, who had motivated her to play the sport, pushed her to continue playing. Her primary skill is public speaking, and she also enjoys working in fields that need leadership skills. She enjoys posing as a leader. She enjoys leadership and has previously served as a troop leader in her school's Scout and Guide programs. Leadership is a talent that drives her to connect with others, which she likes. Apart from academics, Avni enjoys playing sports and listening to music as a way to relax and reflect on the future. The saying "You can't control the wind, but you can shift your sail according to the wind" inspires her the most. She thinks that while we cannot control the challenges that arise, we can adapt and work through them. This comment has a positive effect on her. She tells other young people not to give up. There may be difficulties when you first start something, but after you start adapting and growing, you will like the flavor of the thing. She believes that it is critical to consider twice or thrice before quitting anything and asks everyone to not give up. You should also work hard for your goals, and love and do what you enjoy the most.
