A young cricketer, Goutam has been learning cricket at KT Cricket Academy for the last six months on a scholarship. He believes that cricket requires proper time and dedication.
Goutam Sharma says that he lived with his maternal grandparents in his childhood. As his maternal uncle is a national level player, he used to watch matches with his family and got inspired to play cricket. Earlier he played in Delhi for four months but unfortunately he had an injury and stopped playing for one and a half years. Later, with the guidance of K. P. Sir, he joined KT Cricket Academy.
At KT Cricket Academy, Goutam learns under his coach K.P. sir and K.T. sir, who teaches him very well and guides him about all aspects of the game. He says he has got very good coaches and opportunities in this academy. Goutam considers his maternal uncle as his role model. He also admires the bowling of Mohammed Shami and batting of Rohit Sharma.
Goutam shares that by playing cricket we remain physically and mentally fit, and our focus and concentration increases.
Goutam participated in a State level tournament in Telangana and won the gold medal playing tennis ball cricket. He also secured the title of ‘Man Of The Match' and won a trophy for being adjudged the ‘Player Of The Match’ in the practice matches by playing with a leather ball.
Goutam advises newcomers that it is beneficial to start learning cricket from childhood. Time and dedication is required to learn cricket.
