Hardik Gupta, studying in the 9th class in St. Anthony’s Senior Secondary School is a chess player. Initially, he learned from Vikas Sahu and then joined Rybka Chess Club to learn more about chess.
Hardik started playing and learning chess after his mother encouraged him to do so. He later joined the Rybka Chess Club after learning the game for some time from Vikas Sahu.
Richeen Jain is Hardik's chess mentor. He gives him puzzles to complete, corrects him when he makes mistakes, and generally instructs him in the game. Magnus Carlsen, who has been World Chess Champion since 2010, is someone he looks up to.
Hardik believes that playing chess enhances our cognitive abilities and broadens our understanding. It also aids in enhancing both physical and mental wellness.
Hardik qualified a state level competition by competing in the RBSE District event.
Hardik suggests that beginners start by learning the fundamentals of chess before continuing. To grasp chess properly, one should solve puzzles, observe more and more games, and take part in tournaments. The quote “Practice makes a person perfect” motivates and inspires him a lot.
