A promising young cricketer, Abeer Naik is steadily making his mark on the field with his powerful batting and match-winning performances. A bowling all-rounder, he enjoys contributing with both bat and ball. His favourite format is T20 cricket, where he loves playing an attacking brand of cricket in the fast-paced 20-over format. An 11-year-old Class VI student, Abeer has been playing cricket since the age of 9 and currently competes in the Under-12 category under the guidance of Indore Cricket Club (ICC), Indore.
Abeer’s cricket path began while playing in the streets near his home, where his interest and natural talent for the sport caught the attention of his parents. Recognizing his passion, they enrolled him at the Indore Cricket Club (ICC) Academy. Through regular practice and dedication, his coach, Suraj Kumar Chauhan Sir, recognized his potential and helped shape him into a skilled bowling all-rounder. Training at a well-equipped academy with quality facilities, Abeer enjoys learning alongside his teammates under the guidance of experienced coaches. The academy provides practice wickets, net sessions, and regular match opportunities, ensuring players receive complete exposure to both training and competitive cricket. This environment has played a significant role in helping him improve his skills and develop as a young cricketer.
Abeer considers his coach, Suraj Kumar Chauhan Sir of Indore Cricket Club (ICC), as his mentor and guide. Through regular training sessions and continuous support, his coach has helped him improve his bowling skills, control, and overall understanding of cricket. He describes his coach as friendly, supportive, and always willing to answer questions, helping him grow not only as a cricketer but also as an individual. As a fast-bowling all-rounder, Abeer looks up to Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc as his role model. He admires Starc’s pace, swing, and ability to consistently bowl with accuracy and control. Inspired by his performances, Abeer hopes to develop similar qualities and become a successful fast-bowling all-rounder in the future.
Sports and cricket have transformed Abeer’s life in many positive ways. They have helped him build confidence, remain physically active, and develop the discipline needed to attend regular practice sessions. Through cricket, he has improved his concentration, focus, and attention span, which has positively influenced both his academics and physical fitness. The lessons learned on the field have helped him become more dedicated, confident, and disciplined, shaping him into a more balanced and well-rounded individual.
Talking about his achievements, Abeer has already earned several recognitions at a young age, including Best Bowler and Best Fielder awards, along with two Man of the Match titles and one Player of the Match title. Looking ahead, he dreams of representing his academy and school at higher levels of competition and hopes to make his parents, coaches, and mentors proud through his performances and dedication to the sport.
Abeer carries a simple yet powerful mantra whenever he steps onto the field: “You can do it.” These words help him stay motivated, confident, and focused during practice sessions and matches. His message to children of his age is simple — participate actively in sports and physical activities. According to Abeer, sports not only improve physical fitness but also contribute to mental well-being, discipline, confidence, and overall personality development. He believes that staying active through sports helps young minds grow stronger while keeping the body healthy, active, and energetic.
