Started playing Netball in her school, Bhumi Menaria has since made good progress in the sport winning the district competitions twice, and leading her team to state and national levels. She credits her coach, Harshwardhan Singh, and her supportive parents, especially her cricket-playing father, for her success. She encourages young athletes to pursue netball for its physical and mental health benefits.
Bhumi began playing Netball in her school, Central Academy in 2021-22, when she was fifteen. She wants to pursue B.Com and prepare for SI exams, and with that aim in mind, she does her studies at home.
Bhumi learnt netball from her coach, Harshwardhan Singh, at Central Academy School. She is grateful to have a coach like him, as he has always taught her effective netball skills. She feels that her achievements are due to the training she receives from her coach. She considers her parents her role models since they have always supported her. Bhumi's father, who is also a cricket player, always encourages her to participate in sports. Her parents have always boosted her by treating her as their right hand and have stood behind her as her backbone.
Bhumi Menaria explains that netball is a fast-paced game played on a rectangular court, which is divided into two halves. The main objective is to score by throwing the ball into a hoop attached to a net. Players must pass the ball within three seconds and cannot move while holding it. Each player is assigned specific positions on the court. Netball is a great sport for improving hand-eye coordination, strength, and self-motivation.
Bhumi has won the District Netball Competition twice. She also led her team in a state tournament and was given the opportunity to compete in the open nationals. She attended a national camp in Bikaner and received valuable experience from it.
"If you know yourself, you will win all the battles" is a saying that constantly inspires Bhumi. She encourages other young stars to play netball since it is a game that builds strength, motivates you, and keeps you both mentally and physically fit.
