Talking about her passion for dance, classical dancer Dhairya Yadav shares that she began learning Kathak at the age of 6. However, due to certain circumstances, she was unable to continue her formal training. Determined not to let her passion fade, she continued practicing at home by watching dance videos and learning on her own. Recognizing her interest, her mother later enrolled her in Kathak classes, where she trained for a year. With her mother's constant support, Dhairya continued refining her skills at home. She shares that after every Kathak class, she would practice the compositions she had learned and conduct in-depth research on national-level dance performances. Constantly working on improving her techniques, she also enrolled in online dance classes. Although she initially found it difficult to learn through the online mode, she never gave up on her passion. When Dhairya turned 9, she received an opportunity to represent her school in a National-level dance competition. She recalls that she had many doubts and hesitations, especially because she lacked continuous formal training in Kathak. However, instead of allowing those fears to hold her back, she chose to believe in herself. She practiced tirelessly at home for a patriotic dance performance and gave her best on stage. Her hard work paid off when she won a gold medal, a moment that strengthened her confidence and inspired her to pursue dance with even greater dedication.
