Kathak practitioner Dhrishti Jain has been learning the classical art of Kathak from a young age. Passionate about rhythm, beats, and taal, she sees dance as her true form of expression. A Class 8 student at Central Academy Senior Secondary School, Udaipur, she has been training for the past two years at Shruti – The School of Music, Udaipur, while balancing her academics with dedication and enthusiasm.

The Initiation

Dhrishti began learning this graceful dance form at the age of three. She initially started her dance training in Indore, where her interest and passion for rhythm and expression gradually grew stronger. Later, after discovering Shruti – The School of Music, her father enrolled her in the academy to further nurture her talent. Since then, Dhrishti has continued her path with dedication and enthusiasm—perfecting her footwork, learning from her mistakes, and growing with every performance. Through constant practice and guidance from her mentors and guru, she has developed confidence on stage and continues to express herself beautifully through Kathak.

Gurus & Role Models

Dhrishti considers her guru, Pt. Narendra Kumar Byawat, to be both her mentor and role model. An expert in Kathak, Vadya, and Vocal Music, he has been a great source of inspiration throughout her artistic path. Under his guidance, young talent Dhrishti feels motivated to learn, grow, and follow in his footsteps with dedication and passion for the performing arts.

The Talent

Practicing Kathak has not only helped Dhrishti become more confident but has also developed qualities of strength and self-belief in her. With every footwork sequence and hand gesture she practices, she learns patience, timing, and the art of expressing herself gracefully through dance. This art form has also helped her develop better concentration and improve her grasp of school lessons and studies.

Achievements

Young talent Dhrishti has been performing on stage from a very young age and has actively participated in various events while representing her school. Her dedication and passion for dance have earned her recognition and appreciation on many occasions. She secured 2nd prize for a semi-classical dance performance under the banner of FM Radio. Recalling one of her earliest achievements, Dhrishti proudly shares that she received her first prize in dance at the age of just four, marking the beginning of her beautiful career in the world of performing arts.
