A national level badminton player, Harsh Chaplot started playing badminton at the age of seven with the inspiration of his father. His father was his first guru and currently he is practicing badminton under the guidance of his coach Saurabh Sen at Dyumani Sports Academy. He became state champion twice and represented India in three international tournaments.
Harsh began playing badminton at the age of seven. As his father was a badminton player himself, he encouraged Harsh to take up the game. When Harsh was younger, his father would take him to the stadium and teach him the basics of badminton. He recently began competing in international badminton tournaments.
His father, who has always inspired and driven him to play badminton, is Harsh's role model. His father encouraged him to pursue his goals and taught him how to play badminton. From his father, he learnt to never give up no matter what. At Dyumani Sports Academy, Harsh is learning and practicing badminton under the tutelage of his instructor, Saurabh Sen. He has spent the previous eight years receiving coaching from him. He runs for an hour every morning at Gandhi Ground, then spends the rest of the day on the academy's court, and ends each day with a three-hour practice.
According to Harsh, Badminton is one of the quickest sports and requires quick reflexes. Playing badminton also requires concentration. Three games of 21 points each make up a badminton match, and agility, speed, and endurance are its key components.
After participating in his first event in 2010, his love for badminton grew. He won the state doubles championship in 2013. Additionally, he won the men's singles state championship in 2022 and 2023 in back-to-back years. In the North Zone tournament in 2019, he also took home the gold medal. He represented India in three international competitions held in Raipur, Bangalore, and Sri Lanka.
According to Harsh, in order to build stamina, you should concentrate on your fitness by exercising two hours on the ground or by going to the gym, and then practice on the court for three to four hours to hone your abilities. The phrase that inspires and motivates him is "I can and I will." He feels that nothing can stop you from achieving anything in life if you have the belief that you can. Regardless of the outcome, he counsels everyone to never give up in life. You will undoubtedly succeed in your goal if you work diligently and consistently. In order to advance in life, consistency is essential, believes Harsh.
