Harshi Jain from Maharana Mewar Public School started learning Martial Arts at a very tender age and since then she has been practicing Karate and Kickboxing. Considering Karate to be a sport that helps in building fitness, Harshi says that it helps in your overall personality development. She aspires to go far and achieve a lot in the field of sports.
Harshi says she initially joined a summer camp for martial arts that was being organized near her house just as a hobby and never knew that it would become her passion gradually. Harshi joined RCKK Academy of Martial Arts eight years back and has been practicing regularly to excel in the field. Although she has played various martial art games, she mainly considers herself a Karate Player and has been putting her best to achieve higher levels in the field.
Harshi has been a big fan of action movies and she really gets inspired by the female action leads of the movies. Further, her coach Pankaj Chaudhary at RCKK Academy of Martial Arts has been her ideal for always supporting her to go forward in her life. She also follows spiritual leaders a lot.
Harshi thinks that Karate is not just a sport, it teaches a person to be disciplined, manage things well, and become a good leader. Karate is more about discipline. There are a lot many elements in Karate including Kata, where you just need to demonstrate your moves without hurting anyone. More than strength, flexibility, mobility, and will power are the required skills in Karate. Karate helps a person stay fit mentally and physically. Karate starts with the White Belt and every three or six months, a person undergoes a skill test known as the Belt Test, after passing which one gets the higher ranked belts.
Harshi is a Brown belt in Karate. She has also participated in the National Kickboxing Championship and received a gold medal in the same. She also received the Maharana Fateh Singh Award from MMCF. She has also qualified for the state level championship and is going to participate in the second National Kickboxing Championship soon.
Harshi says that participating in Karate brought a big change in her life and she wants to move forward with this change. There are various types of Karate like Shotokan, Wado-ryu, Shito-ryu, and Goju-ryu; among which Shotokan is the most difficult one. Getting a Karate belt has a special place in a player’s life, says Harshi. To the Martial Arts aspirants, Harshi says that it helps a person with the overall development of their personality and also develops in them an ability to adjust according to the situations. Therefore, one should definitely enroll in some sports, believes Harshi. The quotation “It’s not about winning or losing, what actually matters is participating and gaining experiences” motivates her.
