Kavyanshi Tailor, a young school student from Udaipur, has been passionately playing basketball since the age of 10 and excels as a shooter. She has represented her school at district and state levels, winning second place in a district tournament. Inspired by her coach Usha Acharaj, she dreams of growing into a skilled player while encouraging other youngsters to embrace sports.

The Initiation

A student of St. Gregorios Senior Secondary School, Udaipur, Kavyanshi Tailor is a passionate basketball player. She has been playing basketball since the age of 10. From the very beginning, she developed a deep attachment to the sport. What started as a childhood interest gradually turned into a strong passion, and since then, basketball has become an important part of her life.

Gurus & Role Models

Her coach, Usha Acharaj Ma’am, plays a significant role in her journey. Training at Khelgaon, her coach is dedicated, disciplined, and deeply supportive. Kavyanshi shares that her coach gives personal attention to every student and ensures regular practice sessions every day except Sunday. During holidays, her coach invests even more time in training the team. Kavyanshi considers Usha Acharaj her role model. She admires her not only as a skilled basketball player but also as an inspiring mentor. Kavyanshi dreams of becoming like her coach in the future — strong, confident, and accomplished.

The Talent

Kavyanshi shares that four key elements are most important in basketball: dribbling, shooting, rebounding, and defense. Among these, she identifies herself as a shooter. Shooting is her favorite skill, and she enjoys scoring points for her team. She believes that basketball has not only improved her game sense but has also contributed to her physical growth, including an increase in her height. For her, playing basketball is both exciting and empowering.

Achievements

Kavyanshi believes that shooting is one of the most crucial aspects of basketball. As a shooter, her primary responsibility is to score baskets for the team — something she confidently excels at. She proudly shares that she can also score impressive three-pointers, which makes her an asset to her team. One of her favorite quotes by the legendary Basketballer Michael Jordan deeply inspires her: "Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships." She believes this quote teaches the importance of teamwork and smart play. According to her, when players work together with understanding and intelligence, they can achieve any goal. Apart from basketball, Kavyanshi also enjoys singing. It is her favorite hobby and a creative outlet that balances her athletic life.
