A twelfth grade student, Leeja Das is pursuing a diploma course from JT Aviation College, Kolkata. She is also a Yogasana practitioner and started doing yoga at the age of 12. She has participated in state championships, nationals, and also represented India on the international platform. She believes yoga is for everyone and is beneficial for overall health.
According to Leeja, she began practicing yoga in elementary school and has taken part in several visually striking yogasana events there. She found great inspiration in the fact that everyone recognised her abilities. After that, she made the decision to continue. At first, her father showed her some of the yoga poses he had studied in school. After that, when she was twelve, she enrolled in a yoga school.
At first, Leeja enrolled at a yoga institute where she received instruction from Gorahdev Das and Shushant Das. She transferred to yoga schools after two years, and now she studies with Mr. Paritosh and Mr. Swayantra Dev, two international yoga instructors. She is always encouraged to perform better by her professors. She is motivated by Lord Krishna's words and views him as her guru. Anushka Chaterjee, the NYSF winner and world champion, is Leeja's role model. Anushka, who has participated in a yoga challenge on the reality programme India's Got Talent, greatly inspires Leeja.
She explains that asana refers to physical postures and that the term yoga means to merge our soul with the ultimate soul. The physical facets and actions of yoga are the primary emphasis of yogasana. Peers demonstrate their yoga poses, and their balance, overall control, endurance, and flexibility are evaluated. She claims that in addition to being a spiritual practice, yoga poses are beneficial for enhancing both physical and mental well-being. It keeps our minds and souls young in addition to improving physical flexibility.
Leeja has participated in several state and national level championships. Representing India, she was placed third in an international meet, which was held online during the pandemic. She does yoga in addition to swimming, painting, and Bharatnatyam dancing. She studied art for four years and classical dancing for five years. As an artist, she does creative yoga and draws inspiration from different fields to enhance her practice.
Leeja believes that the spiritual and inspirational words of Lord Krishna, "Become the master of your mind and senses, not their slave," convey the idea that we may accomplish our goals via mental training, but that we risk losing ourselves if we let our minds rule our senses. Leeja suggests that yoga is suitable for all ages. Yoga poses are beneficial to our health in addition to increasing our body's flexibility. According to her, this is one of the greatest fields for aspiring youngstars to maintain better physical and mental health.
