Considering Kathak a beautiful dance form, our Youngstar Manya advises the youngsters to dedicate a bit of their time to it, even if not as a hobby but as a way to develop focus and discipline in their lives.
Unable to become a Kathak Dancer herself, Manya’s mother got her admitted to Kathak Ashram, Udaipur when she was five years old.
Manya is learning Kathak under the guidance of her guru Chandrakala Choudhary. When it comes to her role models, she says she got inspired by her mother’s aunt who is a very good dancer, and regards her as her role model.
Manya began learning Kathak when she was four to five years old. She says that Kathak is an Indian Art that has been there for a very long time. She says Kathak gives us the knowledge of expressions and a lot more. Kathak keeps a person healthy and teaches them discipline in life.
Manya won the second prize in the Udaipur Dance Festival.
