An international swimmer, Naisha entered the field of swimming when she was eight years old. She has won various medals and broke the 23 year old national record in swimming. She learned swimming under the guidance of her guru Nisha at Nisha Millet Swimming Academy.
Naisha began swimming at the age of eight as a life skill during summer camps. After a coach saw her swimming potential, she entered the competition pool and introduced herself in the field of swimming.
Under the direction of her coach Madhu Kumar, Naisha practices swimming at Dolphin Aquatics. Her instructor Nisha, the first female swimmer to represent India in the Olympics, serves as her role model. Naisha was motivated and inspired by her after seeing how hard she worked.
According to Naisha, there are four different swimming strokes: butterfly, breast, back, and freestyle. Her primary event was the 100-meter butterfly swim, where she excelled in the butterfly stroke. She is also a back-stroker and does 50m and 100m of all strokes.
Naisha earned her first state medal in 2019 when she represented the state in South Zone Nationals in Delhi. After that she won several medals in state competitions. Recently, she represented India at the World School Games held in France, which was her first international participation. Furthermore, in 2022 she went to Uzbekistan for the Asian Championship and secured the 12th position. She represented India at The Commonwealth Lifesaving Championships and also broke the 23 year old national record in Delhi.
According to Naisha, at first, juggling sports and academics was a challenge for her, but over time, she overcame it by doing school activities throughout the school day and concentrating on sports exclusively during swimming practice. She is grateful to have teachers who are accommodating and supportive, as they conducted special online sessions for her after she got home at 9.30. Naisha tells the young athletes that it takes a lot of effort and commitment to play any sport. She feels that in order to succeed in life, one must give up something. Playing sports helps us learn how to explore, balance, and compete.
