A talented upcoming writer, Nuh Chakkiwala started writing when he was 13 years old. His English teacher inspired and motivated him towards creative writing. Besides writing, he has also participated in various sports like rifle shooting, badminton, etc. He also participated in the National Level Video Jockey Hunt through AFS and his team got an award for raising the ‘Most Remarkable Concern’. He published his first book during the Covid pandemic by using Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing for self-publishing. His other skill is public speaking and he pursued this talent by participating in a Model United Nations -MUN event.
Nuh states that after observing his creative writing skills in his eighth-grade exams, Miss Catherine, his English teacher, encouraged and pushed him to do creative writing. He then began penning short stories in his notebooks, which eventually grew into a full book.
Nuh looks up to authors Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes, and Enid Blyton, the author of Hardy Boys, as role models. His own source of inspiration is his literary grandfather, Fakhruddin Chakkiwala, whom he observed writing multiple times.
Nuh thinks that the requirement for creativity in writing is among its most crucial elements. Writing can begin at any point, for example, at the beginning or end of a tale. Writing creatively is limited only by your imagination. When writing creatively, one should not be limited by the need for perfection and can begin at any point. He discovered that receiving recognition is one of the main benefits of creative writing. His proficiency in English also improved due to his writing. His creative writing skills is what allowed him to receive a 150 out of 160 in the Duolingo English Proficiency test.
His list of accomplishments includes going to Kota to represent his school in rifle shooting competitions at the state level. Through his academy, he also took part in badminton competitions at the district level. He has also been a casual swimmer and a horse rider. His greatest accomplishment was winning the ‘Most Remarkable Concern’ Award in the National Level Video Jockey Hunt conducted by AFS.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when he was thirteen, he wrote his first book and attempted to publish it. He sent several emails to publishers, but didn’t get any reply. He came to know about Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) after doing extensive study. It's a fully self-publishing service where users load their text and add their own front and back covers and spines. One may publish a book within 72 hours, and he suggests that aspiring authors use Amazon Direct publishing. "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime" is the quotation that uplifts and encourages him. Giving a guy a fish is like giving someone a book to read; they read it and learn something, but teaching a man to fish is analogous to teaching a person to write, in his opinion. He advises all the young people that you nurture your talent since everyone has one. It is crucial that you approach your teachers and school to share your talent and get their guidance. According to him, a teacher's recommendation may help you refine your skill and turn it into a widely accepted body of work. Nuh is now working on his second book, an anthology of fifty poems. His second gift is public speaking, which he developed by taking part in Model United Nations (MUN) events. He was the first person in his school asked to lead a workshop on the specifics of MUNs, in which he took part as the Chairperson of the International Press committee. His school hosted the second MUN in Heritage Girls School (HGS), in which he took part and he had to visit other schools as a professional. Additionally, he and the other members of his committee founded the Rajasthan Youth Conference, a locally based MUN conducting organization, and they work to raise awareness about MUNs.
