A student of St. Anthony’s Senior Secondary School, Paridhi Lodha has been playing chess for the last two years under the guidance of her guru at ‘Chess in Lakecity’.

The Initiation

Paridhi's brother encouraged her to take up chess, outlining its advantages. Following his advice, Paridhi has been learning and playing chess for the last two years.

Gurus & Role Models

Under the direction and watchful eye of her instructor Vikas Sahu, Paridhi is learning how to play chess. He is usually a big help and support to her. Regarding her idol, Paridhi states that she is motivated by the sacrificing chess-playing style of Midhit Mishra, a player who has participated in several nationals.

The Talent

As chess is a mind game, Paridhi believes that playing it can help in your IQ development, mental skill improvement, and many other things.

Achievements

Paridhi competed in the West Zone competitions, where she was placed first. She also went to the Nationals, where she was ranked second.

A Bit More

Those who wish to play chess should learn how to move the pieces, execute openings and threads, and other strategies, according to Paridhi. “One bad move can spoil our forty good moves” is the quotation that motivates her the most.
