S G Mirthula, an eleventh-grade student at Maharishi Vidya Mandir School, started skating when she was six years old and has since become a CBSE National medalist. She is also a district level weight-lifter, and a Kho-Kho player. Currently, she is practicing under Sathya Murthy at Svastika Speed Skating Academy (SSSA), Coimbatore. She credits her parents for supporting her in balancing her studies and skating.
S G Mirthula is an inline speed skater who is enrolled in the eleventh grade at Maharishi Vidya Mandir School. She began skating at the age of six after being inspired by the senior skaters at her school. They inspired her to learn skating.
Mirthula began her skating career under the tutelage of her coach Tanishka sir, who taught her the fundamentals of skating. Then she was coached by Rahul and other coaches who supported her through her ups and downs to help her improve and gain confidence. She is now training at Svastika Speed Skating Academy (SSSA) with her coach Sathya Murthy, who has provided her with competitive strategies, confidence, exposure, and racing methods. This has helped her gain confidence and improve. She looks forward to PV Sindhu as a role model since she has won several medals at the Asian Games and the Olympics. S G Mirthula also admires Sindhu’s dedication, devotion, and hard effort in sports. These are the traits that inspire her most.
According to Mirthula, skating shoes include wheels that allow the wearer to glide on ice or the ground. Ice Skating and Speed Skating are the two categories of skating. She's now training in Speed Skating and finding several benefits from the sport. Skating, in her opinion, is a delightful and entertaining form of exercise that also improves cardiac health. In addition to helping one stay fit, skating also increases one's physical and emotional confidence.
S G Mirthula is a third-grade CBSE National Medallist who has won silver and bronze medals. In a tournament in China, she bagged gold and silver medals. In addition, she also plays Kho-Kho, does weightlifting at the district level, and is also an athlete.
The quote: "Maybe I won't be champion today, the next day or the next month but I will be champion one day!" provides her with great inspiration. She believes that this phrase exemplifies the player's hard effort and persistence, as the player never allows their failures to overwhelm them and conquers them all through self-belief, hard work, and consistency. She tells other rising stars to avoid being sad by their shortcomings and instead strive to overcome them. She advises being perseverant and believing in yourself because the hard effort you put in will never fail you and you will one day achieve success. S G Mirthula believes that it is a difficult task for a sportsperson to balance studies and sports, yet sports are nothing without studies and vice versa. They both complement each other, therefore she handles them both with the help of her parents, who have always helped her through difficult moments. She used to study in the mornings and practice skating in the evenings, or alternately. When she was unable to handle her schoolwork, her parents' emotional and physical assistance enabled her to do both simultaneously. Furthermore, she emphasizes that skating begins at the district level. If one can get a medal at the district level, they can advance to the state level. Once you have been picked for the nationals, you will be able to join the Tamil Nadu camp, where they will prepare you for national level contests, give you additional race experience, and help you gain confidence and conquer your fear of competing at the national level. Moreover, if you win a medal at the nationals, you will be picked for Indian team trials, where you will race against other co-competitors and if you win, you will be selected for the Indian squad. This allows you to compete among world-class skaters. Her coaches prepared her for the nationals by offering or teaching her more about racing strategies as well as ways to help her strengthen. The coaches also assist her by offering diet advice and giving her the opportunity to participate in races in order to overcome her phobia of them. In the end, S G Mirthula says she is grateful to her school administrator, who helped her gain confidence and provided her with mental support. She also admires her PT teachers, Mithun, Shiva, and Kumran sir, who help her gain confidence and improve her fitness. She is also grateful for the support and encouragement of her coworkers and professors. She is grateful for the support of her parents and coach Sathya Murthy, who have always assisted and inspired her through her ups and downs.
