A young, world record holding Yoga player, Geetha Nivetha has participated in many yoga competitions and has achieved four world records. A student of Rajshree Sugars Ramakrishna School in Mundiyampakkam, Tamil Nadu, Geetha practices yoga on her own and is inspired by Yoga Vaishnavi. She believes that yoga is a journey of self-improvement and encourages others to believe in themselves and practice with determination.
Geetha began her yoga practice when she was just four, and attended yoga classes for two years. Later, she began practicing on her own supported by her mother, who has always been encouraging and supportive of her yoga practice.
In addition to practicing yoga on her own, Geetha also watches yoga videos on YouTube and learns from them. She deeply admires Yoga Vaishnavi, and finds inspiration in her lectures and videos about yoga.
Geetha says she enjoys doing yoga because it integrates the mind and body. The three pillars of yoga are breathing, movement, and meditation.
Geetha has achieved four world records in the art of Yoga, including a Guinness World Record, a Global Record, and a Nova Record. She competes at the state level and took part in a national tournament in Assam in 2024.
After taking up yoga, Geetha saw improvement in her physical and emotional well-being. She finds great motivation in the saying, "Yoga is a journey of self to the self." She advises other children to have confidence in themselves. She thinks that everything revolves around consistency. If you practice with full determination, you will definitely succeed. Have courage and don't be afraid, she says.
