A multi-talented youth from West Bengal, Sagnik Das excels in Rifle Shooting, having competed at state, pre-national, and national levels. A passionate singer, dancer, and creative designer, he also plays a key role in his family’s biogas business, managing client relations and digital outreach. Honored with Alok School’s most prestigious academic award, Sagnik continues to grow under the guidance of his mentors and spiritual inspiration from Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra.
Sagnik Das, originally from West Bengal and now residing in Udaipur, is a dynamic young individual with a passion for learning and exploration. Having recently completed his 12th grade from Alok School, Udaipur, he has now embarked on his higher education journey at Pacific University. Prior to this, he pursued his studies from 6th to 10th grade at the Narayana Group of Schools in Kalyani, West Bengal. Rooted in a family deeply involved in the biogas sector, Sagnik is currently assisting in his father’s business—an enterprise nurtured by generations and sustained by a shared vision. But beyond academics and business, Sagnik is a true jack of all trades. He immerses himself in a variety of pursuits, from singing and dancing to swimming and gaming. He has a flair for the creative arts, often experimenting with video editing and graphic design. Musically inclined, he plays both the keyboard and the harmonium with equal ease. Yet, amid this sea of interests, Rifle Shooting stands out as his deepest passion. Inspired by his father—an NCC cadet and recipient of the Governor’s Award in the sport—Sagnik’s fascination with firearms began early in childhood. His curiosity matured into serious dedication when, during his 10th grade, a rifle shooting academy opened in his city with the mission of promoting the sport. That moment marked the beginning of a committed journey. For over three years now, he has been diligently honing his skills in the field, viewing rifle shooting not just as a sport, but as a disciplined art form that channels focus, control, and legacy.
Sagnik Das’s career into the world of rifle shooting began in Kalyani, West Bengal, where he took his first steps as a marksman. He joined the Kalyani Shooting Academy, a place that laid the foundation for his passion. Under the expert mentorship of Dhiman Sir and Diganta Sir, Sagnik learned the essential techniques—how to hold a rifle, aim with precision, and maintain discipline under pressure. It was here that his shooting career truly began to take shape. His path, however, was not confined to one place. When Sagnik relocated to Udaipur, he continued pursuing his passion with the same zeal. He joined another shooting academy and trained under the guidance of Ajit Singh Kalyani, a skilled shooter and dedicated coach who played a pivotal role in refining Sagnik’s techniques and sharpening his competitive edge. Alongside these mentors, Sagnik credits his father as one of his earliest guides. Having experience in rifle shooting and having once pursued it through the NCC, his father shared valuable insights, tips, and strategies that deeply influenced Sagnik’s development in the sport. From practical advice to moral support, his father has been a constant source of encouragement for Sagnik. Rifle Shooter Sagnik Das holds deep gratitude for all three of his coaches—Dhiman Sir, Diganta Sir, and Ajit Singh Kalyani—as well as his father, acknowledging each of them for their unique role in shaping him into the shooter he is today. Beyond the shooting range, Sagnik’s values and inner compass are grounded in the teachings of Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra, whom he considers his spiritual guide and a constant source of wisdom. Following him since childhood, Sagnik—and his entire family—draw strength and direction from Thakur Anukulchandra’s principles. His parents, too, stand as his primary role models, instilling in him the importance of integrity, humility, and perseverance. In every aspect of life—whether in sports, academics, or personal growth—Sagnik Das walks a path illuminated by mentorship, family support, and spiritual grounding.
Young Achiever Sagnik Das’s career is a vibrant blend of talent, determination, and continuous learning. His foray into rifle shooting has taken him from local practice ranges to some of the most prestigious platforms in the country. He began by competing in the state-level rifle shooting championship, where he gained not just experience but also valuable exposure by interacting with seasoned shooters. His dedication and growth led him to the pre-national championship in Goa, where he secured a commendable rank, and eventually to the national-level championship held in Bhopal—an opportunity that marked a significant milestone in his sporting journey. Competing at the state, presidency, and national levels, Sagnik proudly represented his state, an achievement he holds close to his heart. But Sagnik is far more than just a sportsperson. His passion for singing dates back to when he was just 4 or 5 years old. Over the years, he has participated in numerous district-level competitions and distinction-level examinations in music, building a repertoire of achievements that reflects his deep-rooted love for the art. Alongside this, he has explored and excelled in swimming, dancing, and badminton, making him a truly well-rounded performer. His inquisitive mind also drew him to Model United Nations (MUN) conferences. In his very first MUN experience, he earned a Verbal Mention, and in subsequent conferences, he absorbed invaluable insights about diplomacy, global issues, and public speaking—skills that further shaped his personality and confidence. In the academic realm, Sagnik’s perseverance shone through. Transitioning from West Bengal to Udaipur posed initial challenges, especially in adapting to a new educational environment. However, his unwavering effort paid off when he was honored with Alok School’s most prestigious academic award. Despite being a newcomer, his performance earned the recognition and appreciation of his school principal and teachers—proving that resilience and focus can overcome any hurdle.
While Sagnik Das has explored various fields—from rifle shooting and music to academics and MUNs—his primary focus today lies in his family business, Sonali Biogas Pvt. Ltd. Rooted in innovation and sustainability, the company specializes in biogas technology, offering end-to-end solutions—from manufacturing biogas machines to complete installation setups for clients. Sagnik plays a vital role in the company, especially in this digital age where visibility is everything. He oversees client communication and social media management, using his creative skills to design engaging posters, advertisements, YouTube content, and video editing. His role isn’t just technical; it’s strategic. He’s the bridge between the business and the digital world, ensuring that the company reaches the right audience with the right message. Beyond visuals and outreach, Sagnik also interacts with clients directly, guiding them through the possibilities within the biogas sector. He takes pride in educating and convincing potential partners on how the biogas industry not only benefits the environment but can also be a sustainable and profitable business venture. At the heart of his motivation lies a quote by Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra, a revered spiritual guide whom Sagnik follows closely: “When you are asking for one, don’t ask for ten. Go for the one, and the ten will automatically come to you.” This simple yet profound teaching reinforces Sagnik’s belief in focus and dedication. For him, it means that by committing to the task at hand with sincerity, doors to greater opportunities will naturally open. His message to fellow youngsters is rooted in resilience and self-belief: “Even if you fall, stand back up and keep going. Don’t let anyone’s words demotivate you. Keep trying, and success will follow.” With clarity in purpose and a heart full of determination, Sagnik Das is steadily building a future where tradition, technology, and tenacity come together.
