Fond of learning Kathak and other classical dance forms, Saumya joined Kathak Ashram, Udaipur and aims to expand her skills in the field. Believing in the beauty of Kathak, she advises the aspirants to learn the art and keep it intact for the future generations.

The Initiation

Learning Kathak makes Saumya happy and she has been learning it for the last two years. When she heard about Kathak Ashram from her school friend, Saumya joined the dance academy and aims to continue learning Kathak in future.

Gurus & Role Models

Saumya learns dance from her teacher Chandrakala Choudhary. She says that her teacher teaches various dance forms. Saumya is also into modeling and her modeling teacher Rajesh Sharma is her role model.

The Talent

Saumya says Kathak is an art form full of expressions and body movements. Maintaining proper coordination is very important in this Indian dance form.

Achievements

Saumya has performed at various events. She also does modeling and won “The Face of Udaipur” Award in 2022, and the “Lakecity Princess of Udaipur” title in 2017.

A Bit More

Just after two to three months of joining Kathak Ashram, Saumya learned a performance on the song “Ardhnarishwar” and she says that the expressions and movements of that dance motivate her a lot. Apart from dancing, Saumya also does modeling and has won many awards in the same.
