Shatakshi Chittora is studying in ninth grade at The Study Senior Secondary School. She has been practicing the mixed martial art, Kudo, since an early age. She has won numerous medals in Kudo Tournaments, including a gold medal at the district level and a trophy for Best Fighter in the state level competition. She follows her coach since she views him as her role model.

The Initiation

Shatakshi got the inspiration to learn martial arts through an online platform. She says that when she saw videos of martial arts she also felt like trying it once. Then she searched on Google and even asked people about it and they recommended SRA MMA. Later, she decided to join the academy to practice Kudo.

Gurus & Role Models

Her mentor, Sensei Vipash Menaria, is a very grounded individual who approaches the pupils in an appropriate and efficient way. Before instructing the kids, he absorbs everything, makes sense of it, and tries it on himself. Her coach is always picking up new skills and imparting them to others. He handles everything with great skill. She has been learning Kudo at Sensei Raj Academy of Mixed Martial Arts (SRA MMA) and enjoys training and coming to the academy every day. She looks up to her coach, Sensei Vipash Menaria, since he not only fights really well and is powerful, but he also handles things wisely. He solves all the problems in a very relaxed and stress-free manner.

The Talent

She explains that Kudo is a full-contact game and that every precaution is taken to ensure player safety. It's a practical and technical game that requires some practice and refinement. According to her, Kudo encompasses a variety of disciplines, including Boxing, Taekwondo, Judo, BJJ, and Kickboxing. In Kudo ground fighting and striking techniques are also used.

Achievements

She took home a gold medal at the district level in the 2023 Kudo Tournament. In the state championship, she won a gold medal and the Best Fighter trophy. She was then chosen for the nationals, where she took home a gold medal and won three bouts. In addition, she won a silver medal in the State Government competition and a gold medal in the District Government competition.

A Bit More

Shatakshi had trouble juggling her academics and sports at first, but now that she has a routine, she can handle both of them with ease. She encourages all young people to take training in martial arts at least once in order to acquire self-defense capabilities. The quote: “The pain you feel today will be the strength you get tomorrow” inspires and motivates her a lot. Shatakshi shares that she trained for a whole year in order to participate in the National Tournament. She was afraid once when she saw her opponent, a black belt, although she was just a yellow belt. She eventually prevailed in the battle because of her confidence and the support of her friends and coach.
