Sujal Garg, a promising Cricket and Rugby player from Neepal, a village in the Pali District of Rajasthan, excels in sports, securing First Place in the Under-19 District Rugby Tournament and Third Place in a State-level Cricket Tournament. Guided by his coach, Jitendra Singh Charan, he has learned the importance of passion, strategy, and respect in sports.
Sujal Garg hails from Neepal, Pali, and is currently studying at the Rajkiya Uchch Madhyamik Vidyalaya. Passionate about sports, he has been playing cricket since childhood. Later, he also started playing Rugby and his career in Rugby began when he was in the 11th grade, when he was introduced to the game by his PTI teacher, Jitendra Singh Charan.
Sujal began playing Rugby under the guidance of his coach, Jitendra Singh Charan, who introduced him to the game and patiently explained every aspect of how it is played. He dedicated his summer vacation to practicing Rugby and learning its finer points, thanks to the tireless efforts of his coach. One of the most important lessons his coach taught him was that the game is not just meant to be played, but to be understood and learned. He instilled in Sujal the value of playing with passion, emphasizing that winning or losing comes later—and never placed pressure on him to win. Sujal’s role model is his PTI teacher, Jitendra Singh Charan, from whom he has learned everything about sports and life. He aspires to become like him someday. Mr. Charan has always guided Sujal—not just in understanding the game of Rugby but also in showing him the path to becoming a PTI himself. His constant motivation and dedication to encouraging students have deeply inspired Sujal.
Sujal shares that Rugby is a sport commonly played in schools and follows a seven-a-side format, with each team consisting of seven players. The game is tackle-based and played on a 100-meter ground, with each half lasting seven minutes. In his team, Sujal plays as the left corner, while the team captain takes the central position.
When he was in 12th grade, Sujal participated in a Rugby tournament for the first time representing his school, where his team secured the first position in the Under-19 boys category at the district level. He was also honored as the Player of the Tournament. In 11th grade, he played in a cricket tournament where his team secured third place, which led to his selection for the state-level tournament, where they again finished third. Additionally, he was selected for the state-level Rugby tournament from his school. He consistently performed well, securing fourth rank in both 10th and 11th grades.
Rugby Player Sujal shares that to play rugby, one must practice all kinds of sports and focus more on athletics—especially running. A player needs good stamina because the ground is 100 meters long and it involves a lot of running. It's not just a game of strength, but also of strategy—how to carry the ball forward and how to distract the opponent. His favourite song is “Kar har maidan fateh” and gives him the motivation to play with passion. To other youngsters, he advises that every player should respect their coach—because a player learns everything by observing them, and should never think they know more than their coach. He also emphasizes that along with studies, playing sports is equally important. Stamina builds through sports, and sports certificates also add value in exams, so everyone should definitely play sports. Lastly, he shares that his family has never stopped him from playing sports—in fact, they’ve always motivated him. His parents never pressured him about studies, and his father always encouraged him by saying, "You should try to play at the national level." He recently played at the state level and is now preparing for the nationals.
