A Table Tennis enthusiast and a pupil of Warren Academy school, Swarnima initially played badminton and then started playing table tennis. She chose table tennis as the academy is near her home and to be able to do regular practice.
Swarnima had been playing table tennis for the last two years with the support of her senior players and her father.
Swarnima began playing table tennis under the guidance of her guru Pradeep sir who always encouraged her to play with the senior players in order to make her game strong. She considers her parents as her role models as they always supported and motivated her.
According to Swarnima she is good at playing Forehand and Backhand counters. Push is also a very useful technique in table tennis. She also considers that table tennis is beneficial for weight loss and for improving eyesight.
Swarnima participated in the Jaipur district tournament and the State Ranking tournament in Ajmer but didn’t qualify. She also participated in the Inter Academy tournament and won the second position. She won the State tournament in 2023 by playing in Under-11 and also won the bronze medal in the Under-13 girls' tournament.
Swarnima says that she is also good at dance and art and craft. She tries to participate in every activity in her school to build her confidence and practice hard to win it. To the youth, Swarnima says that confidence plays an important role in every sport. One should play with confidence irrespective of losing or winning the game. The quote “Learn from sports to make your mind and body strong, only then you can win” motivates her a lot.
