A student of Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2 Eklinggarh, Tejaswi Roy is practicing two technical sports such as Discus Throw and Powerlifting. He won a bronze medal in discus throw in the Regional Sports Meet, showcasing his dedication to the sport. He advises young athletes to understand the process and start playing to achieve their goals.
Initially, Tejaswi was playing cricket for the past seven years. But, last year, his school coaches motivated him to try discus throw.
Tejaswi’s school coaches, Garasiya sir and Ajay sir, train him in discus throws. His older brother Mohak Roy, who encourages and pushes him to powerlift, is teaching him the sport. His brother Mohak Roy is his powerlifting motivation, and his coach Ajay sir too inspired him to participate in discus throw.
Tejaswi says that Discus Throw is a technical sport that boosts confidence and strength. It's a throwing event that helps you shape your physique as well. We throw a solid metal disc in this sport, and it has a meter-based criterion. This sport involves two techniques: the standing throw and the running throw. Powerlifting, on the other hand, comprises the bench, deadlift, and squat styles of lifts. It also gives you motivation and boosts your confidence.
For the past two years, Tejaswi has participated in the Regional Sports Meet as a cricket player, and his team was placed fourth. He was inspired to pursue the sport of discus throwing after winning the bronze medal in the regional sports meet. He was also selected as a standby player in Discus Throw for the Nationals.
"Just believe in yourself and everything is possible" is a saying that encourages and inspires Tejaswi. He thinks you can do anything in life if you have trust and confidence in yourself. He tells the young athletes that they can do everything they set their minds to in discus throw and powerlifting as long as they learn the fundamentals and get started. He says playing sports and working out regularly makes you confident and self-motivated, and is very helpful in your studies too.
