Vanshika Kunwar Gaur is a Class 10 student at The Stanvard Senior Secondary School, Udaipur, Rajasthan. Deeply connected to her traditional roots and aware of the importance of life-saving skills like swimming, she carries a strong passion for both dance and swimming. While dance adds grace and confidence to her personality, swimming keeps her physically active and mentally strong.

The Initiation

Vanshika shares that when she was just four or five years old, her father taught her how to swim. Since then, swimming has become one of the happiest parts of her life. According to her, swimming keeps her fit, refreshed, and mentally stable while teaching her discipline, focus, and patience. She also began dancing at the age of five or six. From a very young age, she enjoyed expressing herself through graceful movements and performances. Dance became a beautiful medium for her to connect with her emotions and showcase her creativity.

Gurus & Role Models

Vanshika shares that her biggest inspiration has always been her parents and family members, who constantly support and motivate her. They have stood beside her as a strong pillar of encouragement and have always guided her toward growth and success. She also shares that living in a joint family has taught her many valuable lessons. Every family member has a different personality, unique strengths, and distinct perspectives on life. Some excel in academics, while others shine in different talents and ways of thinking. By observing and learning from everyone around her, Vanshika continues to grow into an individual with a broader understanding of life and people.

The Talent

Ghoomar is one of the most celebrated folk dances of Rajasthan, where women come together to dance joyfully during festivals, weddings, cultural gatherings, and special occasions. More than just a dance form, Ghoomar reflects happiness, unity, tradition, and the vibrant spirit of Rajasthan. For Vanshika, performing this dance is a way of staying deeply connected to her culture and heritage. Every movement, every spin, and every expression carries elegance, joy, and the beauty of tradition. Through dance, she beautifully preserves and celebrates the cultural spirit of Rajasthan.

Achievements

Speaking about her achievements, Vanshika happily shares that she has received the UDF Award for her impressive performances and graceful dance moves. She has also earned recognition at the district level for her talent and dedication. One of the most special moments in her journey was performing at the Ghoomar Festival organized by Diya Kumari, Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Performing at such a respected cultural event became a memorable experience filled with pride, encouragement, and inspiration.

A Bit More

Apart from dancing, Vanshika deeply enjoys swimming and considers it one of the most valuable skills a person can learn. She has swum across various lakes in Udaipur, including Lake Pichola and Fateh Sagar Lake. Being in the water gives her peace, confidence, and strength. Vanshika also shares an empowering message for everyone. She believes that nobody should fear the stage or doubt themselves. According to her, whenever we step onto a stage, we must believe in our abilities and perform with full confidence. She says that mistakes are a natural part of life, and instead of dwelling on them, we should learn from them, move forward positively, and continue achieving great things with courage and self-belief.
