Ishika, a student of St. Mary’s Convent Senior Secondary School, began playing basketball as a pastime but continued with it as her interest in the sport grew over time. She suggests youngsters to refrain from using mobile devices too much and engage in outdoor sports to improve both their physical and mental abilities.
Ishika began playing basketball at the nearest ground to her home to avoid boredom during the pandemic. Gradually she developed interest in the game, and now it has been three years she has been playing and excelling in the sport.
Ishika practices basketball at the Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon and Usha Acharaj coaches her to develop new skills and improve her game. She says that her role model is her coach because her game and techniques inspire Ishika to be better with time.
Ishika thinks basketball is a game that helps you develop new skills and also increases your focus and confidence level. It also lets you explore new places when you participate in the tournaments held in different cities.
Ishika has participated in three state level basketball tournaments till date and her team secured third position in her first state level tournament which was held in Sri Ganganagar.
Ishika advises the youngsters to avoid using mobile phones too much and participate in outdoor sports as it will help them enhance their mental ability and become strong physically. The quote “You are never a failure until you quit” inspires and motivates her the most.
