A passionate Rugby player from Lawan Gaon in Rajasthan, Jeetharam Bheel began his career in 2023 under the mentorship of dedicated coaches. He formed and led winning teams, earning state-level success in both rugby and athletics. Inspired by his mentors and supported by his parents, he now aims to train and motivate others in the sport.

The Initiation

Jetharam Bheel hails from Lawan Gaon in Rajasthan and is passionate about playing Rugby Football. He began his career in the sport in 2023 at the Senior Secondary School in Lawan Gaon, where his interest was sparked under the guidance of his coach, Mehra Singh. Recognizing Jetharam’s potential, Coach Mehra Singh invited Kaluram, a professional coach from Jaipur, who provided the team with intensive training for a month. Soon after, Jetharam and his team participated in a tournament held in Kuchaman City, Nagaur. Later, he moved to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar School in Pali, where he continued his studies for two years. There, he not only advanced his own skills but also took the initiative to form two rugby teams. Leading by example, he took his teams to compete in Nagaur once again—this time returning victorious with a first-place win in the tournament.

Rugby Player Jetharam shares that his inspiration to pursue rugby came from his dedicated coaches—Mehra Singh, Kaluram, Jitendra Singh Charan, and Shrawan Singh Rajpurohit. He credits their unwavering support, guidance, and mentorship for helping him gain mastery in the sport. It is because of their encouragement and training that he continues to grow and excel in rugby today. Jetharam also expresses heartfelt gratitude to his parents, whose constant support and encouragement have been a driving force in his career. He acknowledges that their motivation played a crucial role in helping him move forward and pursue his passion with confidence.

Achievements

Jetharam began his rugby career at the district level, and soon after, his team was selected to compete at the state level, where they played in Kuchaman City, Nagaur. Later, when he transferred to another school in Pali, he didn’t just continue playing—he took the initiative to form and train two new rugby teams there. With his guidance and participation, they competed again in Nagaur and secured first place. Alongside rugby, Jetharam has also showcased his athletic talent by participating in the 100-meter race, making it to the state level in that discipline as well. He credits much of his success to the unwavering support and guidance of his coaches, who have played a key role in shaping his sports career.

A Bit More

Jetharam shares that his true inspiration came from Mehra Singh Sir, who first introduced the game of rugby to their school. It was through him that Jetharam learned that rugby is the national sport of countries like Scotland and New Zealand, and is also recognized as an international sport in India. Coach Mehra Singh not only educated them about the game but also personally trained them, instilling both skill and passion. He went a step further by taking the team to compete in tournaments in other cities, giving them exposure and confidence. For Jetharam, Mehra Singh’s vision and dedication were the turning point that sparked his love for the sport. The lines that always motivate and inspire him are- “मंज़िल से आगे बढ़कर मंज़िल तलाश कर, मिल जाये तुझे दरिया तो समंदर तलाश कर, हर शीशा टूट जाता है पत्थर की चोट से, जिससे पत्थर ही टूट जाए, वो शीशा तलाश कर।” He advises that if you wish to pursue any sport, you can draw inspiration from anyone around you.
