Fond of watching martial arts dramas like Kung Fu Hustle, Kavya Jain developed a deep interest in martial arts at a young age. She has been learning karate professionally while pursuing her dream of becoming a successful martial artist. Kavya enjoys spending hours practicing her kicks, punches, and techniques. Through her dedication and hard work, she has participated in various championships and tournaments, making both her parents and country proud.
Youngstar Kavya has been practicing karate for the past three years at the Indian Martial Art and Self Defence Academy, Mahalaxmi Nagar, Indore. She joined the institute in December 2023. Under the mentorship of Diljeet Kour Ma’am and Vansh, Kavya has learned multiple martial arts disciplines including karate, ju-jutsu, taekwondo, and self-defence.
Young fighter Kavya considers legendary martial artist Bruce Lee as her role model, widely regarded as one of the greatest martial artists of all time. His philosophy, discipline, and dedication inspire her to remain consistent and passionate about her sport. Kavya strongly believes in continuous learning, staying humble, and exploring new possibilities for growth. Her coach, Diljeet Kour Ma’am at Indian Martial Art and Self Defence Academy inspires her by teaching advanced techniques and helping her correct mistakes, while Vansh has been a constant source of guidance, supporting her in improving her performance and practicing her moves effectively.
For Kavya, martial arts is not just a sport but also a way of life. The discipline has helped her become more confident, focused, and dedicated toward strength training while continuously learning new kicks, punches, and techniques. Martial arts has also taught her inner clarity, patience, and the ability to adapt quickly to challenges. Along with improving her physical fitness, the sport has contributed positively to her mental well-being and personality development. Overall, the journey has been both inspiring and transformative for her.
Taekwondo player Kavya Jain has participated in several district, state, national and international-level tournaments since she began learning karate and exploring other martial arts disciplines. She has proudly represented her school and country on multiple platforms. Her biggest achievement so far is winning two gold medals at an international karate championship held in Goa. Kavya dreams of participating in more prestigious tournaments in the future and representing her nation at even higher levels.
Kavya encourages everyone to take up a sport, whether indoor or outdoor, on-field or off-field. According to her, developing the habit of playing sports helps improve both personal and professional life. She believes that sports allow individuals to understand themselves better and, through consistent practice and dedication, inspire others as well. Talking about the quote that motivates her the most, Kavya shares: “I am not afraid of the person who knows 10,000 kicks, but I am afraid of the person who has mastered one kick 10,000 times.” This belief reminds her that hard work and consistency always bring success. Martial arts has made her self-reliant, confident, and mentally strong while enhancing her ability to handle difficult situations effectively.
