A table tennis player, Manastha’s interest in this sport grew slowly and steadily. She started playing at the time of the lockdown and always got the support of her parents to excel in this field. She is pursuing her academics from Kendriya Vidyalaya AFS NO.1, Jodhpur.
Manastha started playing table tennis in seventh grade with the support and advice of her mother.
Manastha says that she plays table tennis under the guidance of her coach Amit Thanvi at the Railways Academy. Her coach trains her in a fun-filled and interesting way and always encourages her. Sharath Kamal Achanta is her role model as he is an international player and plays very well.
Manastha says that table tennis has various benefits, such as improvement in your eyesight, confidence, and physical fitness. There are many table tennis techniques such as Forehand counter, Backhand counter, Push, Drive, Backspin, Sidespin, Topspin, Flat, and different types of services.
Manastha won the bronze medal in an Under-15 tournament and also won the silver medal in the school state tournament. Now, she is going to participate in the national tournament too.
Manastha advises everyone to play any kind of sport as it enhances the quickness in your body, and helps in maintaining physical fitness and concentration in studies. She says that it is important to play sports with confidence irrespective of thinking about mistakes. “Be yourself and always work hard to achieve your goals” is her favorite statement.
