Maulik began playing basketball when he was in ninth standard, focusing on mental and physical fitness. He says that basketball helps release stress and increases your stamina and endurance. He advises new aspirants to engage in sports alongside academics to maintain their physical health.
The Initiation
Maulik used to play football initially when he was in eighth standard but later shifted to basketball and joined Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon to clear his fundamentals and improve his game.
Gurus & Role Models
Maulik practices basketball under the guidance of coach Usha Acharaj in Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon. He says that his coach always motivates the players and also guides them with the right techniques. Maulik’s father is his role model as he has always supported him to play basketball.
The Talent
Giving a brief about basketball, Maulik says that this sport develops and strengthens a person’s physical abilities. He feels, for any sportsperson, their sport is not just a game but an emotion. He says that basketball helps a player release stress when on the court and increases stamina and endurance power.
Achievements
Maulik says that till his tenth standard, he had participated in two to three state tournaments and he again participated in a state tournament while he was in eleventh standard. He says that his team has always qualified for the semi-finals and finals in the tournaments that are held in the academy.
