A cricket player who has played in the Under-19 Rajasthan team, Minaf Sheikh joined Wonder Cricket Academy to learn cricket professionally. He also played football as a goal-keeper and was selected for the Under-14 district team. Minaf is a wicketkeeper-batter and has participated in school state level tournaments and Under-19 nationals twice. He has been practicing cricket for six years under coach Manoj Chaudhary, who teaches him various skills and techniques.

The Initiation

In his early years, Minaf played cricket with his father and then started playing gully cricket. Later, when his father observed his talent, he admitted him to Wonder Cricket Academy. Apart from this, when he was in St. Paul's School, he also started playing football as a goal-keeper and was selected in the Under-14 district team. He was interested in sports since childhood and used to play different sports. Later, he chose cricket and worked hard to learn it professionally.

Gurus & Role Models

Minaf Sheikh has been practicing cricket for the last six years at Wonder Cement Cricket Academy under the guidance of his coach Manoj Chaudhary. His coach teaches him various skills, mindset and the techniques of the game. His coach also taught him tricks about wicket-keeping and batting which helped him in the tournaments. He considers his father as his role model and learned everything by seeing the hard work of his father. His father always supports and motivates him.

The Talent

Minaf shares that cricket is a game of 11 players in which skill and hard work is involved. He is a wicketkeeper-batter and mainly loves batting. He says that in cricket, both keeping and batting are important.

Achievements

Minaf has participated three times in the school state level tournaments and was also selected for the Under-19 school nationals twice. He played football at district level as a goal-keeper. He has achieved many Man Of The Series awards in the local tournaments.

A Bit More

Minaf does fitness exercises in the morning, then goes to college for academics and practices cricket in the evening. The line “Never ever give up” motivates him the most and he believes that it is important to work hard continuously and one day you will get the result. He advises the other young stars to be disciplined, determined and work hard in life.
