Paarshva from Crossroads International School acquired his inspiration to play chess from his father. Paarshva believes that chess is a very good game to improve your mental ability and mathematical skills and one should include playing this game in their daily routine.

The Initiation

Paarshva says that earlier his father used to play chess and that motivated him to play chess. He started playing the game during the lockdown and it has been two years since he has been practicing it.

Gurus & Role Models

Chandrajeet Singh Rajawat, Naman Porwal, and Dhruv Dak at the Kingdom of Chess Academy train him and motivate him to perform better every day. Talking about his role models, Paarshva says that his parents are his role models who have faced every challenge with pride. He aspires to become and play chess like his coach.

The Talent

Explaining the game, Paarshva says that there are sixty-four squares on the chess board. There are sixteen pieces, the Rook has five points, the Knight and Bishop have three points each, the King is the strongest and therefore, it does not have points, the Queen has nine points, and the Pawns have one point each.

Achievements

Paarshva participated and secured the fifth position in the Under-9 National Chess Championship. He also qualified for the Under-9 World Chess Championship. He won the Under-15 District Championship, Under-13 District Championship, Under-9 District, and State Championship, and secured third position in the Under-17 State Championship, and many other tournaments.

A Bit More

Paarshva says that chess has helped him improve his sincerity, discipline, and mathematical skills. Paarshva is going to participate in the Under-9 World Chess Championship that is going to take place in Egypt. He is also going to participate in the Asian Games in Abu Dhabi and the Under-11 National Championship in Tamil Nadu. Giving his message to fellow youngsters, Paarshva says that every individual should include a sports activity in their daily routine. The saying that motivates him is “Result is not important, what actually matters is the hard work.”
