A talented and confident Youngstar, Priyanshi performs Kathak with grace. She feels glad to be a performer of such a beautiful dance form and aims to promote it among the youth.
Priyanshi started learning Kathak when she was in fifth standard from her dance teacher Chandrakala Choudhary at MDS Senior Secondary School in Udaipur. She is currently learning Kathak at the Kathak Ashram in Udaipur.
Dr. Chandrakala Choudhary is her guru who has always motivated her in enhancing her dancing skills. When it comes to her role models, Priyanshi says that her elder sister Akanksha is her role model as she is the one who introduced Dance in Priyanshi’s life. She also gives credit to her parents for supporting her in nurturing her talent.
Priyanshi is happy that Kathak is reviving again after almost disappearing from society. She has been practicing Kathak for the last six years and feels glad to be a learner of an ancient Indian traditional dance form. She aims to promote it among other youngsters. Describing Kathak as a special dance form in itself, Priyanshi says that practicing Kathak helps a person enhance their body movements and expressions. Continuous practice is very important in order to learn and achieve perfection in this dance form.
Priyanshi has performed in various national and international dance shows. Recently, she, along with other students of her academy, made an attempt to achieve a world record for the Guinness Book of World Records by continuously dancing while walking for 15 kms.
Being a Kathak Dancer, she gets inspired by the sound of the ghungroos.
