Punitha belongs to Chennai and is currently studying at Government Arts and Science College. She is a yoga enthusiast who has been practicing yoga since childhood, with her father’s constant support. Punitha has numerous achievements to her credit, including winning the national championship in yoga from 2015-2018, a global world record in 2021, and the International Pride World record, the Nova World record and the Guinness World record. Her father is her mentor, who teaches her with the help of YouTube videos. Punitha advises everyone to believe in themselves and trust their parents.
R Punitha Valli began doing yoga as a young child. Her parents discovered her interest in yoga when she took part in her school's yearly yoga pyramid programme while she was in the first grade. She has been practicing at home on a daily basis ever since. Her family is always there to support her. Her father, who is her pillar of support, watches videos of challenging asanas on YouTube to help her learn those asanas.
Punitha states that her father has been her mentor, teaching her yoga through videos on YouTube. Her father taught her the difficult yoga positions. She views her father as her role model, because he overcame several obstacles in life and never gave up on her education. Punitha's father has been her biggest supporter and has helped her achieve everything she has accomplished thus far.
Punitha says that yoga emphasizes both mental and physical mastery over the body. The yoga poses hold great significance in human life. She claims that yoga, which combines breathing, movement, and meditation, unites the mind and body. Asanas in yoga can also aid with body awareness, balance, and physical strength.
Punitha has achieved a Guinness World Record and competes internationally in yoga. She has set five world records, including winning the first national championship in yoga in 2015 and then following it with victories every year till 2018. She set a world record by holding a yoga pose for an hour and fifteen minutes in 2021. She set two records in 2022: the International Pride World Record and the Nova World Record. In 2023, she secured the third rank at the Pondicherry Yoga Festival and was awarded a trophy by the Pondicherry Chief Minister, Ranga Swami. Setting a Guinness World record in 2024 is her second great moment.
Punitha’s greatest source of inspiration and motivation is Mahatma Gandhi's famous slogan, "Do or die." She gives other young people advice on how to constantly have trust in what they are doing and to believe in themselves. Parents should always be trusted as well. She is also appreciative of her friend Geetha's unwavering support.
