A young cricket enthusiast, Somil is focusing on his game sincerely. He feels that hard work and patience is important to succeed in this game. St. Anthony's Senior Secondary School is where he is presently gaining education.

The Initiation

Somil has been playing cricket at the KT Cricket Academy for the past three years. He says that he used to play cricket in his childhood days and got inspired to come into this sport after watching IPL and getting encouraged by some cricket players.

Gurus & Role Models

Somil says his coach, Kailash sir, inspires him a lot and inculcates confidence in him. He also advises him to learn from his mistakes. Somil considers Virat Kohli as his idol as he focuses on his game and does not let anything affect the same.

Somil says that cricket is a game that requires patience. It helps you stay fit and active in daily life.

Achievements

Somil recently played in a tournament in Patiala and also participated in a three-match series with a team from Jaipur and his team won the series 2-1. He is also the captain of his school cricket team.

A Bit More

Somil feels that hardwork is the key to success. He says that professional players practice around six hours on the field which helps them improve their game. Advising the youth entering the sport, Somil says that they should play with confidence and never let themselves lose heart. He also advises them to not take much pressure and play freely. “Always work hard and never lose focus on the field” is the quote that motivates him.
