A passionate Badminton Player from Jaipur, Vibhor Purohit began his career from casual garden games with his father to intense training under seasoned coaches. Formerly a State-level Footballer, he transitioned to badminton and now aims to compete at the national level, driven by discipline, purpose, and resilience. Inspired by sports legends and fueled by a strong mindset, Vibhor lives by the motto “Be Different,” embracing challenges and pursuing excellence every single day.
Vibhor Purohit, a graduate of Subodh Public College, Jaipur, and currently pursuing his Master’s Degree, is a dedicated Badminton Player with over 6–7 years of experience on the court. His career began in 2017, when he used to play casually with his father in the garden and occasionally at an academy that had only cemented courts. One day, while watching him play, his father recognized his potential and decided to support his passion more seriously by enrolling him in the Rajputana Badminton Academy in Jaipur. Before that, Vibhor’s first formal training began at the Bonny Sports Club, also in Jaipur, when he was around 17 or 18 years old. Since then, he has steadily worked to improve his game. With his eyes now set on excelling in the state-level championships, Vibhor’s ultimate goal is to represent at the All India level and beyond.
Vibhor has been training under Coach Vikram Singh Shekhawat for the past four years at Rajputana Badminton Academy. Recently, the academy has invited an experienced Indonesian coach, Reno Sir, adding international expertise to the training. Vibhor deeply values both the mentors for their guidance and motivation—whether it’s learning how to become the best version of oneself each day or staying focused without distractions. He firmly believes that having the right mentors is essential for growth, as no player can truly progress without the support and wisdom of a dedicated coach. Vibhor draws inspiration from legendary international shuttlers like Lee Chong Wei and Viktor Axelsen, admiring their attacking gameplay and disciplined approach. Among Indian players, Lakshya Sen is his favorite for his aggression and sharp techniques on court. Off the court, Vibhor is deeply influenced by David Goggins—calling him the “toughest man alive”—for his unmatched determination and resilience, and also looks up to Cristiano Ronaldo and Virat Kohli for their fitness, focus, and powerful mindset that fuels both their sports and lifestyles.
Vibhor shares that Badminton is a wonderful sport that’s steadily growing in popularity across India, with many rising stars emerging from the country. This growth has been a great source of inspiration for Vibhor. Passionate about physical fitness, he feels that playing badminton has significantly boosted his mental strength as well. It not only helps him stay focused in his studies but also enhances his overall experience at the gym. Through badminton, Vibhor has learned valuable life lessons—like giving and earning respect, maintaining discipline, and most importantly, understanding the true meaning of hard work.
Vibhor Purohit has delivered strong performances at the District-level Badminton Championships and is now rigorously preparing to achieve significant milestones at the state level. Recently, he competed in the senior category, where the game demands intense hard work, patience, and perseverance. With focused training and a determined mindset, he is now gearing up to turn his efforts into notable achievements.
Vibhor initially made his mark as a footballer, even playing at the state level before transitioning to badminton, where his passion truly flourished. He strongly believes that every parent in India should encourage their children to take up at least one sport, as sports not only build physical strength but also broaden a child's mental capacities beyond academics. Vibhor lives by a disciplined routine, waking up daily at 4 AM, and firmly believes that dedication is the key to success. For him, consistent self-improvement—getting 1% better every day—is the only way to truly get ahead in life. Vibhor Purohit advises young athletes aspiring to pursue badminton—or any sport for that matter—to first reflect deeply on their “why.” He believes that if your reason for choosing sports isn’t clear from the beginning, you may face confusion and difficulties down the road. If your passion lies in academics or any other field, you should wholeheartedly pursue that. But if you feel a genuine spark and potential within yourself for sports, then step in with confidence and commitment. For those choosing badminton, Vibhor emphasizes four key pillars: a nutritious diet, discipline to follow your coach’s guidance, relentless hard work, and above all, unwavering patience. He reminds everyone that success in sports doesn't come overnight—it requires years of persistence, sacrifice, and inner strength. His life motto is: “Be Different.” According to Vibhor, if you want to rise in life, you must set yourself apart—do the things that others shy away from. Be bold enough to walk a path that challenges you. Live each day with intensity and purpose as if it were your last. Keep playing, keep evolving, and never forget why you started. That’s the spirit that builds champions.
