Six-year-old Viraj Darak from Udaipur began playing chess at five and won the First Prize in an open tournament, guided by coach Vikas Sahu. Viraj is inspired by Gukesh D.
Viraj Darak is a six year old boy who likes to play chess. He is a student of Pinecones School in Udaipur. He started playing chess at the age of five years.
Viraj is learning chess under the guidance of his mentor Vikas Sahu at Chess in Lakecity. His coach teaches him well and also motivates him. He considers the renowned Indian Chess Prodigy Gukesh D as his role model as he is a world champion.
Viraj has showcased remarkable talent in chess from a very young age. He secured the 1st Prize in the Rapid and Blitz Open Chess Tournament in the Under-5 category and emerged as the winner in another Open Chess Tournament in the same age group. Demonstrating consistent progress, he went on to win the 3rd Prize in the 2nd Chessman Rapid Open Chess Tournament in the Under-7 category. His skills earned him the 1st Runner-up position in the Jodhpur Chess Tournament (Under-7), followed by a commendable 4th Position in the Udaipur District Chess Championship in the same category. These achievements highlight Viraj's dedication and promising future in the game of chess.
